Adding Aircraft to facilities in scenario editor

Post by ManelFeio2007 »

Hi,
I updated Harppon ANW to the last beta patch and I am unable to add aircraft using the usual Edit/Unit/Edit Aircraft/Add.
Nothing happens after pressing the buttons when adding aircraft to any facility other than runway. I tried both with Colonial Wars and Players DB.
I have no flag limiting units accordung to country or time.

Is it normal or a bug I couldn't find reported?[&:]

Many thanks,

Thanks for the answer. It is looking like that something went wrong during the patch process.
If no one experiences the same problem I will make a fresh install...

Well,
I installed it again and patched with the latest build 3.8.0.0 RC8.
Again tried to add aircraft to a revetment through the Edit/Unit/Edit Aircraft/Add to no avail. Nothing happens after the button was pressed!!!
In Harpoon ANW DB vs 2 I can't add a/c to revetments or hangars but it is possible to add to runways and airbases. The same doen't apply to Players DB or Colonial Wars DB.

Am I missing the effect of some obscure flag?...
Please someone to enlighten me...[&o]

The system is WinXP (updated regularly), Pentium 1.8, 512 MB ram, the location is d:\Matrix Games\Harpoon...

maybe obvious, but your Revet I think must be part of a grouped airbase with Runway to add a/c.

Thanks for the hypothesis.
In fact that seems to be the behaviour in H3 ANW DB vs 2. But, with Colonial WDB it doen't apply!...

As far as I can remember from the H2MM days the a/c where atributes of a facility and not of an instalation.
But those days are gone and I am probably wrong...

Sounds like you haven't grouped the revetment with a valid runway. the individual facilities need to be grouped together to make the base function.

Here's an example. Say you have a revetment, 6ooo ft runway and an ammo dump. To enable all of these facilities to interact you need to hold down the mouse button and drag a box around the three facilities. Release the mouse button and then hit the "Group Units" Hotkey "G". - ( you can also hold down "shift" and individually click on each unit you wish to group together with your mouse and then hit the "G" Hotkey)

After you've done that I hope you'll find you be able to add and ready aircraft from your base.

Cheers

Darren

FreekS and Bucks,
You are both quite right. The 'Small Airbase' installation present in the CW database has a serious problem: it doesn't have a runway!

As I said before new times new ways. I have learned my lesson.[;)]
Many thanks to you all
