Version 1.42?

I just purchased and, surprisingly, it was version 1.42, and not 1.44 which had been reported elsewhere as the new version ('soon' to be uploaded, in August 2006).

I have a Tungsten E.

Two issues, one reported long ago:
1. Reset error in Battle of France scenario, as reported elsewhere.
2. When I try to save a game, it asks if I'd like to save to a memory card, but the options are save and don't save. Clicking SAVE, responds with error 'The game could not be saved because no card memory card is inserted' [sic], and clicking 'DON'T SAVE' responds with 'You need memory card in slot 0 to save games.' This means that I can't save the state of my games.

Any help would be appreciated.

The responses have been overwhelming.

I did, however, email Playtek directly and they kindly provided me with the latest version of the software, v2.05.

Elsewhere on the web I found a newer version of the manual (v2.01), and in there it clearly states that saved games require a memory card. That, at least, answers my original question.
