Deleting Formation Air Patrols

How do I do this in the Formation Editor? Can't find it anywhere in the manual. Thanks in advance.

1. In the main game screen, go to the Game Preferences dialog box (Settings=>Game Preferences) and make sure the 'Formation Air Patrols' box is NOT checked. If it is, remove the checkmark. This will ensure the game doesn't override your order to RTB those aircraft.
2. In the Formation Editor window, first click on the aircraft you want to remove from the formation, then double-click on the 'Air Ops' button at the top of the Formation Editor window. It's just like ordering a plane to land in a normal window. Your plane will RTB and no other flight will be generated to replace it.
3. But watch as it does this--sometimes there are 2 planes/choppers assigned and they sit one on top of the other and just look like one plane. If so, you gotta do the same thing to the second plane.
4. Repeat as desired with all aircraft you want out of the protection formation.
