Has anyone else seen this?

Post by shangrila »

Hi all,
I have been running in to a problem with the latest patch, stock game. Wanted to know if anyone else has seen this.

Ships leave port full of men, or Air Groups...as the TF proceeds men bleed out back to their base over days.
My opponent is seeing the same thing and it's giving him headaches.[:@]

Our current hypothesis is that it has something to do with TF's being disbanded and possibly information regarding that TF number not being cleared from the program. When a new TF gets that number, something happens and it starts leaking men back to it's base.

Thanks in advance!

There is one problem we know about that is addressed in the current up comming patch. Though the symtoms sound a bit different. In the problem we know about, you disband one TF in a port and others stop loading.
There is also a movement glitch that is being addressed with uncleared fields in the TF needing to be cleared.
But your problem does sound a bit different than either of these.

yes it is different and have experienced those and work around them.
related to TF disband bug, possible, but not it's not just the symptoms of stopping other TFs from loading.

We have seen this since around December or January. And have restarted our game and reinstalled/repatched once in that time frame.Because it was such a headache for my Japanese opponent at the beginning of the war (Imagine loading your invasion forces, going every direction, to start seeing men magically back at port...and in some cases no men left on the ship given a week or two on board...no men lost mind you...just all beamed back to port.)
I have seen happen to me as the Allies as well. And we make sure the unit is fully loaded, leaving nothing back at port before we set sail.
Thanks

Off topic, and probably in bad taste - but it occured to me. Would the US be accused of germ warfare if we gave that virus to Al Quaeda? Maybe we ought to just give it to their computers.

Shangrila:

Not every unit starts game with its structure in 100% ready and in place.
Only part of LBU arrive as a reinforcement on turn they supposed to arrive.
It usually takes some time for a LBU to be at full strenght with all detachments in place.

ie: You load Inf div wich just have arrive only to find that part of this unit is sitting in a port.
Its not a leakage from TF :) Just a new elements of this div have arrived.
Nothing happends fast in this game. everything takes time :)

get used to it.

OR all of this talkings about THE dark side actually works.....

How do you know when a unit is fully completed building?

Check the TOE button... It shows what the unit is supposed to have - which is sometimes not doing it a favor..

The part of this issue that I think a few folks have missed is that the troops already loaded on ships, at sea, slowly disappear from the ships...and seem to rejoin their parent unit back where they boarded.  I'm quite curious if anyone else has input on this issue.  I think I've seen it happen, but I wasn't sure what was going on.  Against the AI, I was evacuating some fragments from the PI to Darwin.  When they got to Darwin, the units unloaded from the ships, but the fragment units were not at Darwin, or anywhere else in Oz, the next turn.  I thought I might be seeing some type of attrition loss to the fragments, but I never checked the actual number of squads, etc while they were still aboard their transporting ships.

Ideas, anyone?
