No need for "no time limit" patch

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

No need for "no time limit" patch

Post by wonkguy »

Somewhere on this board I saw a request for a "no time limit" patch. After playing about 4 hours to progress 2yrs last night I can say that there is no need for such a patch.

Well, it depends on how into the particular game you are. If very successful, you may want to continue beyond the normal limits.

Gentlemen, I can safely say that there is no need for a patch thanks to a very convenient bug in the game. When in the "Scenario Length" section of the startup, play around with the buttons, click a choice and then click off, whatever. When you click off and exit, it will sometimes say "scenario Default", and if that should happen, keep clicking around. Often, however, you will see an insane amount of Months (ie 567894+.) Just to see how long the game would last, I went into the treaty section and decided to take the "year limit" on some of the clauses to the max. I got bored around 2396[>:]. If somebody does not reach the glory goal by then, I have no hope for them on playing this, and for their social life for that matter[:D]. No Mod is needed, as both the patched and the unpatched have this.

Sorry to bring this up: I've tried all the steps as guided but in vain. Could you be more specific on the procedure?

Ok than, first enter the Game Length section, than click an option. And than another. And another. keep clicking around at random. If you are feeling lucky after doing this, than click "OK." It should show a god-dang large number of months. Please note that this is often at random, and it will not always work, but keep trying! It will eventually!

Thank you I will try that again. I don't know what happens to me but I just like all those glitch things very much. [:D]

So far nothing happens but I promise I will go to church this Sunday morning!

By the way, is that possible they have fixed that on v.1225?

I have version .26 and this does not work. So I think this was probably addressed in one of the patches.

You know. It has been mentioned that you can MOD the game. I don't know how to do that but there may be somebody who knows how to do that on this forum.
