Governor's Attitude Adjustment

Post by tiredoftryingnames »

In the original appendix for the game it mentioned Governor's would take a -3 hit to attitude if a brigade from his state was destroyed. -6 if he was from the opposition party.

I asked about it:
"I read in the manual that a governor suffers a hit to his attitude if a brigade from his state is wiped out. Legendary units in their description tell you where the unit is from, but where can you see what state a unit is from for those regular units. Units I create I can name them to tell their home state. But what about the units that start on the map? Is there a way? I figure it must be tracked but I haven't found where to see it. "

And Ericbabe answered:
"I hadn't noticed that that was still in the governor rules -- tying brigades to states was a feature that we had planned as they were written but did not add. Please disregard the rules on page 230 that reference home-states of brigades (attitude adjustments for unmet brigade supply and for destroyed brigades). I'll mention these in the errata. Sorry for the mistake."

The rules changed on units disbanding and it's explained in the list of changes. But that covered the units and where what strength they have goes. But I've noticed that when a unit is disbanded the Governor of the state where it disbands suffers a -3 loss to attitude. I didn't see that in the list of changes. Is it suppose to be happening or is it undocumented. Or did I read the list 3 times and miss it. The only thing I found covering governors is their wants for buildings.

Also I've tried getting this to happen and haven't had any luck, what is suppose to happen if my army is in enemy territory and a unit disbands? I'm thinking there would be no penalty, and for sure if the enemy governor suffer -3 it's a bug. But if I ever got it to happen I'd want to know what the expected outcome should be for sure.

It's not supposed to be happening.  I have found the bit of code that causes it and shall remove it.  It only seems to be happening for units that are disbanded due to being too depleted (brigades below 300 strength).  Thanks!

yes I wasn't clear on that. I only see it when the brigade was disbanded due to low strength. i forgot that important part of the sentence.
