Mehring,

I don't think that it is cut. The line tracing back to a supply source is just a much darker shade of green, as you see in your screen shot. Click on the SEP and it should show bright green from the supply source to the unit.

If that's not the case, then there may be an enemy unit that you dont see close to or within range of the supply line.

Also keep in mind that the supply line status is not a "current" status but rather the status at the last time it was checked. Usually this at the last resupply determination event, which occur at 0600 and 1800 of each day. So it might be that at that time it was cut or threatened but now if a supply line were to be determined it would be deemed to be open. The reason we don't do this dynamically is that updating the supply routes more frequently would slow the game down dramatically.

Thanks for looking into this, but your explanations don't make sense to me.

simovitch, here's the reverse supply situation, showing SEP to supply bases. I've surrendered here, Arjuna, so that should also reveal all enemy units nearby. There aren't any, even on a larger screenshot which was too big to upload. It's an unlikely event anyway on day 3 with all the good routes from kraut entry areas to the south covered.

I also notice, like on the "Charge of the Centaurs" map, a number of church/forts are actually village or open ground. These are to be found in Kleidi, Pontokome, Perdika, Vegora and Phlampouron.

Mehring, could you attach a saved game of veva before you surrendered? I'll take a look.

Hey who referred to my home as "the skunkworks"?

Skunk works is a term used in engineering and technical fields to describe a group within an organization given a high degree of autonomy and unhampered by bureaucracy, tasked with working on advanced or secret projects.

One thing I didn't know is that the term was coined back in the 60's by the Lockheed-Martin Guys. They even have a skunk on the side of their building!

What you failed to add to that definition, or maybe you need to qualify the term as it applies to us here, is that yes we have autonomy and yes we are free of bureacracy and yes we are working on advanced secret project but we are also grossly underpaid, which would be quite the opposite of what those boys at Lockheed-Martin were.  [;)]

How's things going in the lavender fields? Found a similar instance here in Maleme-

Mehring,

Thanks for the additional examples. I have investigated and yes you have discovered an anomoly. What is happening is that the senior on map base is erroneously checking its line of supply status at the 0600 resupply determination event even though it is "restricted" to just one such event per day - ie at 1800. While it wasn't receiving supplies from off-map, it was despatching those it had and in this process it redetermines its status.

I've fixed it and the testers have given the thumbs up. So it will be in the new Patch 3 coming shortly.

That's good news. Low arty ammo and lack of basics particularly make quite a difference.

One thing I notice is that unlike the latest example, in the second screenshot of this thread three red lines emanate from the SEP. Doesn't that mean that this can effect other bases as well as the senior base?

Yes it affects any Base that draws directly on an SEP. Bases can draw directly on an SEP instead of going through their superBase if certain conditions are present like being closer.

Should the same apply to bases drawing from an SEP in the case of multiple available SEPs, or are bases stuck with a designated SEP for life?

In Maleme I found- I think the German divisional para base in prison valley- drawing from the much more distant airfield SEP. It didn't seem to make sense given its close proximity to the prison valley SEP and the fact that it landed there. As I recall, of all the german bases only a regimental para base drew from prison valley SEP at the stage of the game that I checked.

Taking your advice from another thread, to locate senior bases close to SEPs I moved the bases. I'm not sure if it's conected but I subsequently found a lot of german units fatigued for lack of basics where they had nominally clear supply lines.

Well it depends. There is nothing preventing a base drawing on differnet SEPs over the course of a scenario. Much depends on the supply capacity or the amount of supplies arriving through or at the SEP. Check the relative ratios in the Resupply Tab.

Thanks, that makes sense. With only 20% of supplies arriving at prison valley SEP clearly the base started to draw from the airfield.

...derisively referred to as "Junkworks" by the Northrop people. ;)
History began July 4th, 1776. Anything before that was a mistake.
