Looks good to me
altho I may use support points for ammo boxes and heavier arty instead of having them in core force. and also i will buy some 'regular' infantry units to go along with the enigneers, instead of having an all Engineer Infantry force.

Alby,

Here is why I chose as I did:

Artillery) I know Wild Bill.  He will have some surprises.  If I have a little long-range artillery in my core, then it might actually hit something at long range once it gains some experience (say, in 1944).  Support artillery tends to be wildly inaccurate.  Hence my desire to have just a little bit of long-range artillery in my core.  In a Generated or Long Campaign I would never consider long-range artillery in my core (I only use medium mortars), but this is a Wild Bill campaign and it is way more difficult than a Generated or Long Campaign.

Ammo Boxes) Personal preference. It is as historically justifiable to buy ammo using support as it is to have ammo organic to the core.  However, I chose to go with organic ammo because I suspect that Wild Bill might toss in some battles with few or no support points available.

Regular Infantry) Canadian infantry is very weak in 1942.  For about half the price, those recce infantry hit almost as hard as regular Canadian infantry in 1942.  This was a cost-effectiveness decision for me (I only have a limited amount of core points to spend and I have to make every point count).  I do plan to upgrade the recce infantry at some point in the campaign (probably when the 'regular' infantry gets PIATs).

It's a shame you don't use Enhanced DVRN.  I'd really like to see your Canadian core. . .

Anybody else?  I'd like to see some Canadian cores that I can compare and consider as an alternative to the working model I have now.  How about it?

all good points, especially about Wild Bill......[:)]

What do you mean you wish I used Enhanced DVRN??
[&:]
DV and DVRN are exactly the same OOB wise.
Altho I will be using the set that has all those "fixes" applied.

Alby,

I thought you used a custom mech.exe and custom OOBs, right?

I wish you used non-customized Enhanced DVRN so I could see your Canadian core.

No customized Mech, I use the same one that comes with Enhanced, and the oobs I use are not "custom" they are the same ones in DV and DVRN, i just have those 74 "fixes" applied.

Why do you need this list, Victor? The forces themselves do not matter -- it's how they are used.

Look at my latest DAR -- no "power gaming" there. (I really HATE that term.) I'm fighting for my life, and have minimal reserves. I WILL win, but it won't be because of gamey tactics. It will be because of the bravery of my troops, and the support I can try to provide to them. Simply playing historical (in SPWaW terms) can provide you with all the drama you need. You seem incapable of understanding that.

Glenn,

And you seem to be incapable of understanding that I like group particpation.
I like it when more than one person is involved.
That is what I'm looking for, group participation.  I'd appreciate your participation, too.

Group participation? Sounds too kinky for me. Picking Canadians? That's like dating your half-sister, isn't it? At least the Aussies are a bit more exotic.[;)]

Glenn,

Tell you what.  You devise an Aussie core for me (Enhanced DVRN) for Long Long Road and I will use it.

Only one caveat:  the core you devise for me is subject to peer review on this thread for final approval.

Okay?

be brave old man and push the AI advantage # up and I'll play the same LLRTV campaign with an even brutaler configuration,, how bout me playing as India???and maybe snatching a few tanks to assist from say one of the really hard axis minors like bulgaria or hungary, god forbid maybe rumania!!
I'm tryin to figure out what kind of semi-historical structure rather than composition, that I can put a core together with so as to display that its just as much opperating doctrine that runs the fights success rather than just sheer numbers and firepower.
VA said it himself,,{armoured fist} works good against the AI but how will it fair against a designed campaign??,, especially the design of an old war master like wild bill!.

Why not play it as the Poles, who are fitted out with UK equipment? Or try it with the Free French, who also used UK equipment. Or maybe as the Dutch or Belgians, fighting as part of the Allied armies?

correct my friend,,they have some of the heavier panzers, but I don't have to pick them,,[:'(] and I figure two thoughts about this, every force for war that has been constructed throu out history has had its members in the ranks that were their units"SCROUNGERS" I figure they went ahead of the core to explore, procure, and indoctrinate, public servants, local malitias and partisans.
Secondly, useing high mobility secondary line arms like SP-AA units and transport with light armorments in the front line rather than hideing and emptying their crews gives some help with suppressing fire observation, and fast relocation, kinda like loading your troops to tanks, but if your short on tanks use the next heaviest units like tanks.

OK, I'll play nice now... no more picking on the Canucks. Not good form to throw trash in the next-door neighbors' yard. Besides, I admire (almost) all of our WWII allies. The exceptions will not be mentioned, but they DO make some damn good vodka. [:'(]

Riun T,

If we can agree to play using the same game conditions, then I will play the Long Long Road campaign using the same starting core you choose.

Can we agree to play with the same settings and game conditions?

Don't rush ahead.  Wait until we can agree before starting anything.  Wait.
