OT: Germany's Infantry Mobilization

Post by dayrinni »

I enjoy reading about WW2 and all the interesting topics it has.

I've recently discovered that Germany did mobilization of their infantry in waves. I've been doing some searching but I can't remember/don't know exactly what it is called. Does anyone happen to know here? I thought it was mentioned in the fite document but performing some searches on that gives me nothing.

Thanks!

"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where –" said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the Cat.

Best info I've seen on the mobilization waves used by Germany prior to and during WWII is by Dr. Niehorster (SP?).  There's a link to his OOB's at orbat.com.  You'll find a "pictogram" TO&E for the Infantry divisions of each "Welle" (wave) and a list of all the divisions supposedly created in that welle.
