Looks like you need to use a download manager - lot's of freeware and shareware ones around - I use GetRight.

Sounds like a not finished or corrupted download.

You can retrieve the download link at any time.

Please go to our E-Store and click on "Store FAQs" , there check the "I need help downloading." link. Or go to www.findmyorder.com and enter your order number and password.

If you have troubles downloading large files then we suggest you use a download client like "Stardownloader" available for free from www.stardownloader.com . It will let you resume disconnected or broken downloads. You can even pause them and resume them whenever you want.

Ok so I tried the star downloader and after it finished downloading the file i get this error when it tries to open it "C:\Download\CloseCombatCrossofIron-SetupReleaseVersion-v1DR.zip: Unexpected end of archive! C:\Download\CloseCombatCrossofIron-SetupReleaseVersion-v1DR.zip: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged
! Cannot execute "C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\Rar$EX06.782\CloseCombatCrossofIron-SetupReleaseVersion-v1DR.exe"

I'm on a broadband connection so I'm at a lose as to what my problem might be. Is their another link to dl it from ?

I don't know in the particular case of CC, but my digital downloads from Matrix all resulted in an EXE-file on my harddisk. Are you sure you're downloading a zip file, or did you somehow rename it in the download process ?

To test this : rename your .zip file to .exe and try to install

A second idea is that the error message indicates you're probably using WinRar or something similar to extract the zip-file - you could try another un-Zip program

I'm not renaming it, its a .zip in the url and it doesn't allow me to change it from a .zip to .exe With winrar it will open a folder with a executable file in it but can't run it due to the previously stated errors. I've tried both winrar and winzip. I'm very confused I've never had a problem dling large files before.

Ok, next step [;)]

Do you try to execute the exe-file inside the zip directly ? If so, extract the exe file first to your c:\download directory before executing it. So, don't "extract and execute" or the WinRar equivalent, just extract.

Ok tried that with both exractors and I get the same error from both
"End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not a Zip file, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part Zip file. " the wording from winrar is different but essentially the same thing. Is it possible that the URL that I've been given is bad or has a bad file ?

Doubtfull, but nothing is impossible in the wonderfull world of computers [;)]

Ok, this is what I would do :

1) just to be sure : rename the .zip file to .exe and try to install it

2) If that doesn't work post a message in the game's forum with the exact size of the zip file - people there will be able to tell you if the filesize is correct or not.

Now we're getting somewhere [;)]

The discrepancy in size means your download is broken.

Windows sometimes has the bad habit of breaking off a new download where it was first interrupted, resulting in a broken download time and again.

Solution : close all other programs and delete everything in your \windows\temp folder and if there's such a thing clean the chache and/or temp directory of your download manager too, then retry the download.

Well last night while I was in class I decided one more time to try dling the file using the Schools wireless connection. After about an hour it worked, one thing I didn't do was delete the previously dled file I just clicked the url again and let starloader do it's thing. So now I'm up and running finally. Thanks for your time and help.
