It is primarily an interface issue allowing another way for the player to use current game mechanics to plan and manage TFs to support supply, fuel, oil and resource movement. The only additional mechanics necessary would be to track assign a label to currnet locations as sources and hubs, ability to tranlsate orders from the interface to current game mechanics (the AI if you will), and ability to set waypoints (and remember them for resue).
Given it may be outside the scope of a patch, but it would not require a major rewrite of the underlying mechanics to implement.

they are good ideas, but would require a major if not completely re-written routine and AI routine. Hence thats why it was never implemented. perhaps in a future game, with a bigger budget one might see such a setup which would also allow an AI to follow such a script.
