What is up with the player database?

Post by renojedi »

I know it is supposed to be based on the final 2006 statistics but I keep coming across guys who were traded before the end of the season who are still on their original team. I am typing this away from my laptop where I play PS but I believe the last two i saw were Javy Lopez and Jeff Conine still on the Os roster. Anyone know why?

It probably has to do with the number of games or AB's the player had with the respective teams.
In 2006 Lopez played in 76 games for the O's and only 18 for the Sox, while Conine appeared in 114 games for the O's and only 28 for the Phillies.  A lot of folks like to replay specific seasons so it makes sense to put a player on the team that he played the most on.

I see...so basically the rosters are accurate as of opening day 2006 with 2006 end of year stats/ratings unless a player was traded to a team where he played more games than he did with his opening day team. Is that about right?

There may be some exceptions to the rule, but yes- that seems about right.
