Secondary RHS Mods

It appears that a new family of RHS scenarios may release shortly. These will not be managed in the same way as present RHS scenarios are, but they will be distributed the same way. Each such scenario has its own manager - of necessity - operating with a different set of assumptions and standards. But they prefer to use the RHS air combat model and, in some cases, an RHS map model.

The first of these will probably be a version of WITM called RHSMTO (Mediterranean Theater of Operations). It is a derivitive of WITM by Mifune using RHS device standards to implement air, anti-air, land (and possibly naval) combat variations. [Thus, you won't have nuclear bombardments by battleships or heavy bombers] It probably will be Scenario 41 - and other such scenarios will probably use 4x series numbers - so as not to interfere with the 5x, 6x and 7x series of Level 5, 6 and 7 scenarios, respectively. [Level 7 is not released, but will release as soon as its pwhex is done]. 8x might be used by a Level 8 if we do a new map system - something WITP shows can be done. In the case of RHSMTO the map was done by Cobra - just like other RHS map systems - and Mifune has been involved with the project - but the project manager has asked that the next release split and go somewhat different tracks (similar to CHS and RHS).
Mifune asked to use an RHS linked name - and since he wants to implement the air model in particular - and the device theory in general - I decided we could go this way. This means the scenario will be sent to distribution channels by Cobra and ultimately end up on the RHS site. As with Andrew and I, Mifune and the WITM manager have not had a fight, and some of Mifunes proposals will also appear in the next WITM - while of course the basic concept of WITM was not his at all (just as CHS was not my idea at all). What is different here is that I will not be managing these files, Mifune will.

There is a closer RHS mod out there - Empires Ablaze. It is a variation of RHSEOS by Nemo. It might be called RHSEAS (Empires Ablaze Scenario) if Nemo likes that. At one time he asked to distribute his files via the RHS system. I was not clever enough to figure out a mechanism until today - but if he still wants to do that - I see no reason not to facilitate that. Letting the secondary mods have their own managers gives no work burden to me - and people who want to use the RHS device system/air model (and in the case of Empires Ablaze maps) can associate in this way. Nemo and I have also been able to collaborate a bit - and it shows we will be able to cooperate effectively in such an effort. Anyway - it is a possibility.

There might be other such mods from time to time. This is a mechanism that might permit significantly different options to appear using the device/air/map theories at the foundation of RHS.

Nemo has indicated he will manage the Empires Ablaze mod as a daughter under RHS. It will be based on about 6.4 level. It has no files in common with regular RHS (except presumably pwhex and map art) so he will manage all the data files.

Mifune is completing a variation of WITM with Vichy units that will be released as a secondary mod (Scenario 41 RHSMTO I think) when ready. This also is a unique file set - none of the files can be related to regular RHS (not even the maps) - so Mifune will manage them all.
