Why isn't Divided Ground being included in the Campaign Series re-issue?

Post by Executioner Five »

This would have made it a must-purchase for me. I got a copy off EBay but it refuses to run on my WinXP machine. How come no DG, guys?

You don't have any Starforce protected games installed by any chance? For some strange reason that was the only reason DG wouldn't run on my XP machine; remove the SF drivers and it ran fine.

Even if that isn't it, it's worth experimenting. It isn't XP itself that is the problem.

I'll second that, DG runs without any problems or tricks on my WinXP.

Go to http://www.gamesquad.com/forums/campaign-series/

They have a sticky thread on running the Campaign Series on XP, also you can post a question. Good luck!

Did you try the demo first? If the demo runs, the ebay copy is maybe no good.

Did you do the typical install or custom?

When you say it won't run, do you mean nothing happens at all when you dbl-click the "Divided Ground.exe" file? Or, does it fire up, then crash, please can you supply some details?[:D]

Thanks,
Mike

The Original Divided Ground had a lot of errors in it.  There are patches for that that should be added to make it much better.

Also there are now improved oobs and other new nations and terrain additions that could be added to it now for Europe, Africa, Asia.

Vietnam, Korea, Cold War Europe have all been or are being developed by others on top of the DG engine.  Imagine the other conficts for that era lots of room for expansion.

I think after the Campaign Series is released it may be one of the next things to be looked at.  It has so much potential.
