Converting the CS Chiyoda to CVL.

Post by RUPD3658 »

Page 182 of the manual says it will do so if in Osaka after 12/42. Well it is 3/44 and I just disbanded her in port a few days ago and she has not converted.

I checked the ship info screen and there is no button to allow this.

I had off loaded her AC months ago and replaced them with Rufes, which have now also been off loaded.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Does she have any damage?
Are upgrades turned on for her?

Just opened a new game and checked on her. Even on 12-7-41 there is no "Upgrades on/off" toggle.

Edit: Wow, I just noticed the increase in crew experince. [X(]

There are no "upgrade toggles".

However, this upgrade is only triggered at a "month end" ... so the ship will have to wait until the next month end ... to process the paper work and meet with the dockyard Admirals .. before the upgrade can actually begin.

Does she need her float planes aboard to convert?

Nope the "convert" code actually removes the old planes from the ship (to Osaka base) for you, before it adds the new planes.

All the player has to do to convert the Chiyoda and Chitose, is park them in Osaka. After that, everything is automatic.

into CVL with capacity 30... but you wont get full air groups, so you must fill them with recruits or trained pilots using MTM (Mogami training method)....
