RHS Aircraft Production

Post by Buck Beach »

I am trying to relearn the game as I plug away at playing the EOS. I am trying to figure out how to change the aircraft production or if it is even possible. I see I am currently producing no Army or Navy fighters. Most of my aircraft factories are set to "rd". What is the secret here?

Pardon me if this has been discussed before. I did an Aircraft Production search and found nothing that explained the issue.

Highlight a type you wish to change. Then select from the list at the right. The selected type will replace the highlighted type, and the highlighted type will jump to the list.

Note, however, that MOST plants SHOULD remain on R&D and ALSO be set to "halt" IF you want any current production. It is very very very very easy to order so much production you bottleneck things and get almost no production. Trust me on this. Experiment cautiously and slowly close in on increases - or new types will simply not produce at all. Also turn off anything you don't need that eats HI points in the same hex as an aircraft plant. In particular watch your aircraft engine production. And do not mess with things (other than halt unhalt) in locations with few HI points - they will just stay at 0 production otherwise.

confused yet? If not I can add more complications for your consideration! WITP is not easy to grasp in this matter.

I'm not sure what I have done wrong here. I go to the city of production and click the aircraft factory button (LA for example). I see a list of aircraft that are all set similar to this P-51D rd (0) x 34 (all aircraft have a zero in parenthesis). When I hover the cursor over the name there is a quick pop up that says "change P-51D Mustang" but when I click the name nothing happens except it is quickly highlighted that goes back once I release the button.

I think I see where the other fighter aircraft are coming into the pool as a replacement not production, so I see no need to change production now. However, I would like to know why I can't seem to change the production as described above.

IIRC the allies cannot alter production.

That would be the answer then.  Thank you both.

Players can only modify Japanese production - so naturally I thought that was what you wanted to do. But you CAN change the Allies - in the editor. This would not be very historical - unless you think you have better data than we are using. And getting the data right is hard. You must pick a start date and a rate - and it never changes from then on - unless the type is replaced by another type by upgrading - which is 100% efficient. Very difficult to get things right with such a system.

No as I stated above since I now know how the fighters (with others) are brought into the game as replacements, I too have no need to have any control over the games aircraft factory's production. The whole excercise ends up being another relearning issue.
