BTW, ctangus - you were playing VSWG in a game (with AAR) - is that game still going on? The AAR has been silent as of late... [:(]

No it's not. He dropped out of touch about 5 or 6 weeks ago - around the time of his last forum login. It's unlike him - prior to that he was careful to let me know if he'd miss a day. [:(][&:]

Hopefully he's just suffering from an acute case of WITP-burnout or Real-Life-Itis & not anything worse.

Hi all,

The battle rages on with Tobruk the focus. There are 3 enemy units there now with a further 4(31,000) men at Gazala.

RN units are trying to stem the tide by shelling enemy troops outide of Tobruk and by causing havoc elsewhere.

Good news. BB Littorio was confirmed sunk today [:)]

----------------------

As for enhancements:

Fremen - I believe there is a way to turn on/off malarial/non-malarial bases since I think Nik has done it.

Regarding Alexandria - not disputing the current Resource/Oil industry there just the lack of Heavy Industry there. As it stands in NA there is no where in Egypt with HEavy Industry = no real fuel or supply production (I know there is auto supply/fuel at Port Said though).

Other thoughts:

I've noticed that 1/2nd SA Divisions contain British squads rather han CW squads.

9th Ind. Bde also contains British squads rather than Indian squads.

I've attached a screenshot of Porpoise after Mine reload. Only 12 mines available it seems.

Anyway, back to your game - could either you or Speedy post a new map of the Cyrenaica area when you have a moment? Tks.

As Japanese ASW is hard coded, it will also apply to WITP.

Good and bad: the Italian submariners, like much of the rest of the Italian military, were not as well trained nor as motivated as either the Germans or the British. The Germans sent over five dozen U-boats into the Med to help out, realizing that the RM boats weren't going to do the job alone. (And I don't think any ever came back out.) On the other hand, in early '42 the Brits had the finest ASW force in the world. (Experienced both in WWI and a couple of years of WWII.)
Is there any way to turn sub doctrine on for the Italians but off for the Germans?
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

Good exp levels for UK and Ger subs will make them more effective and better at evading ASW but what i believe Pauk is referring too is the hardcoded "better ASW" attacks that the Allies get. The sub "doctrine" buttons only impact what targets are most likely to be selected. (and should be turned off for a WitM game)

yes both sub doctrines are off... same is for PDU... Speedy is back from trip and we run another turn... unfortunatly lost a CR report but i can not recall if there was a real action or not (me thinks not)....

Subs aren't prove efficent so far - i think that Speedys subs attacked my transports twice so far in the game but both times they missed....

I still gathering forces for assault on Tobruk and two understrenghten Ita divisions should arrive tomorrow....

The Axis came in second best that time! Does fortification help during bombardment exchanges?
