Marky, you've just violated a primary rule of AARs: invading the private AAR of your opponent. He could have been asking for advice on how to proceed with an attack... as it is, you've been able to garner insight into his moves that you should never have seen.

I agree with the others that for you to now ask for no invasions of India when you have retreated to the Indian border is pretty galling. This sort of thing should have been worked out long before now, if you were really interested in such a rule.

I'm basically the same as irrevant on this. These are major stratigic house rules and really have no use being in place. I doubt I would agree to them before I started play, why restrict what Japan can do? Attacking the US is a death trap. Attacking North Australia is doable but probably over extends Japan. If he doesn't garrison the East and South of Australia, he deserves to lose it. He should have India well enough guarded to make it hard to take, again, if he doesn't, then he loses. I don't see a problem with putting a large para force down and blocking with it. I would have a problem with you putting a small force( like just a few squads ) down to block a retreat path.

dont interpret this as "ooh im getting my ass kicked so im gonan change the rules"

it would be greatly misfortunate if this game were to end, im sure plenty of people know im usually VERY generous when it comes to house rules, but massive and unrealistic invasions which add 20 "billion" victory points is where i gotta draw the line [:-]

Marky -

You realize, of course, that by entering my AAR, which was clearly marked right in the title "Marky Keep Out" you have ended the game, since I can no longer trust you.

I am very disappointed that you did this because I was enjoying the game.

To everyone who was following this AAR - thank you very much for your interest and your comments.

i realize that and it was not my intention and as i said i dont cheat, im only looking at these posts. besides i knew exactly what this was about, i just asked for a new house rule and its not hard to figure out what it meant, and ive garnered nothing

Certainly that was the intention of his troops. But to demand that he cease and desist from invading India when he is on the doorstep is pretty cheesy, IMO. Keep in mind that IRL there was quite the extended battle for Imphal, so there's nothing gamey about his move. Now going to capture Karachi (or Aden, depending upon the map used) in order to prevent British reinforcements is not something I would agree to, but I would have that stated in the original house rules.

Maybe you think I was being harsh Marky, but demanding such wide sweeping house rules at this point is not a good thing. And if you want to have "no unrealistic invasions" then there would have been a house rule that had "no unrealistic withdrawls" From what I have seen in DBs AAR, you merrily gave up ground the Allies would never have freely given up. Don't play unrealistic and then demand your opponent can't take advantage of your play style.

another sign of bad sportsmanship i believe

my strategy was to withdraw and save my forces cuz i knew i couldnt stop him in the SRA or the DEI or PI, all i could do was harrass him, so i was pulling back so they could fight another day

my strategy was also to save my carriers cuz i was going to opt for the central pacific strategy with the SOPAC as a sideshow to draw him off and cause attriton

not only that, but as i said there was a method to my madness

i pulled back to strongpoints, such as soervaja, which i got up to 50000 troops 30000 supplies and almost level 9 forts

plus i wanted to see if he would get victory disease

the first indication of that was the sortie of the Hyuga, which cost him her services [:D] courtesy of trained carrier pilots, which in the end had to be sacrificed cuz i couldnt get em out anyway

and its obvious that he was overextending himself cuz the offenses were slowing, less invasions

not only that i know for a fact that he did indeed "contract" Victory Disease cuz he was getting more and more boastful, and indeeed more overconfident in his email messages to me, so the strategy worked of course [;)]

plus anyone that has played with me knows that i am indeed aggressive, but only when its not suicide, and sending Halsey against the KB or on some damn fool rescue mission would have been tantamount to suicide [;)]

You think it is bad sportmanship to advise someone to not give in to what I think are unreasonable demands? You have a lot to learn about sportmanship. I think the first would be to not end up discussing this in your opponents AAR. [:-]
