When are we going to get the latest update for MAX FB which I understand David has given you?

Give the guy a break. He is trying to improve the game and seems to have put a lot of effort into it.

An update other than 1.3.149? I'm looking forward to that.

I thought it would be months before David's next update.

No, David said we would get an update soon, some bug fixes and stuff. I think the vista fixes may be in it, but maybe not.

Then down the road a bit, another big one, and I think it would include the new sim engine plus other stuff.

4/13 post by David Winter --
Well work is being done. A huge amount of it really but 99.999% of the work is behind the scenes and nobody is going to see it until 1.35 is released sometime later in the year.

I really wish people would not expect updates and new versions every couple of weeks. That's simply not a schedule I can keep. There's too much to do for that, and there are dependences involved as well even if I personally could manage a schedule like that.

The next update is ready and matrix is preparing it. But that is out of my hands now. I've delievered my part and matrix needs to fit everything into their schedule. And as we all know, Maximum-Football is far from their only game.

Brought about by some (in my opinion) stupid decisions by microsoft, the games graphics engine is being stripped out for 1.35 and I'm currently building a new one into the game. The sound engine too for that matter. That's going to be several months worth of work just to get it back to the point it is now. Which raises the question, is it worth it? Well unfortunately no, but this change is being forced upon all developers, not just me. The pros and cons of 'forced migrations' is a debate I've had numerous times with microsoft folks. The final result though is always the same. They don't care until you're EA or UbiSoft. The most frustrating part about it is, that instead of building compelling features my paying customers are asking for, I end up spending time replacing something that worked fine in the first place. But this is turning into a rant....

So, please rest assured that development hasn't stopped or that neither matrix or I are no longer supporting the game. If anything, my work on the project has grown. It's just that nobody will see it.

thanks

So garysorrell, what the heck are you talking about?

I think Gary is refering to the yet unseen update (I'd call it a patch) 1.3.171 that we have now confirmed Matrix indeed has...and I believe Gary is refering to 1.35 for the as the large update coming later for vista.

emerlee when you post a question looking for answers...don't shoot the messenger.

If I understand your point in this last post?

elmerlee,
Im talking about exactly what David said above, and in other posts. There is an update matrix has and a big one on the way.

I said the following:
"No, David said we would get an update soon, some bug fixes and stuff. I think the vista fixes may be in it, but maybe not."
....because...
David said
"The next update is ready and matrix is preparing it. But that is out of my hands now. I've delievered my part and matrix needs to fit everything into their schedule. And as we all know, Maximum-Football is far from their only game."

I said:
"Then down the road a bit, another big one, and I think it would include the new sim engine plus other stuff."
....because...
David said
"Well work is being done. A huge amount of it really but 99.999% of the work is behind the scenes and nobody is going to see it until 1.35 is released sometime later in the year."

So, this is two updates we know about, two updates mentioned by David. One we should get any time now and a big one down the road.

I did clarify that "I think the vista fixes may be in it, but maybe not."....which is me just talking off the top of my head based on memory. Regardless of the content of the patches, there are two that we know of.
