RE: Help for the board game

Thanks for your advices, but we don't play with the pilots option.

Now I'm producing all the mech units as I can (for example the 8-6 and 7-6 in the south). Now I can only produce the militias (3-3) and some planes.

But the big problem is that I don't know where to put them, Is the first time that I play.

Thanks for everything.

Get those french troops north of the Seine river, if Paris fall he will Vichy you and France is out of the game. No point in defending anything but paris from now on.

It is true, but it can also be usefull to prevent the Germans from rampaging the country, especially crossing the Garonne & reaching freely the Pyreneans for example.

If they intend to go after Gibraltar, the French need to hold the Germans for as long as they can, or at least try to, to force him to Vichyfy & Collapse.

But it is obvious that Paris should be defended at all cost in priority.

Germany's starting with control of E. Poland already? Good luck, lad, you're going to need it. [;)]

Your French situation is, at first glance, okay, but the Germans have got some heavy ARM/MECH there from the looks of it, so any clear weather in the next turn or two will involve massive blitz attacks, and once they can get three hexes on Paris they can usually take it in any weather save storm (they can probably get two of them on their next impulse!).

That said, France should still last to the end of the year, and maybe even into early '41 if the Germans roll badly.

That being the case, it is quite possible that the Germans will not be able to launch a very good May/June Barbarossa. Nevertheless, having all of E. Poland is going to help them when they get started in July.

Stuffing the border might be the best way to prevent the Barb in '41, but if it fails, you're in real trouble.

Is the USSR at war with Japan or Italy? If it isn't, you can't build militia units. They are only available to active (at war) countries.

While you can still leave a reasonable screen in the north to slow the Germans down, the southern situation is especially precarious - the best areas to slow the Germans down are in E. Poland. The Ukraine, until you get to the Dneiper, is just great tank country.

I'd say that if this strategy fails, and Germany can declare war in '41 with all your troops within 3 hexes of the common borders, you'll probably lose the game entirely. I made this mistake in one game some time ago, and my Russia never recovered from the loss of 25+ corps or so in the first turn of the onslaught. [:-]

Thank you very much, for your advices.
Composser99: Russia is not at war with Japan and Italy. But I was in war with Finland, and this is the reason I have the militias.

I will put more pictures and one curiosity nobody here speaks in spanish?

Hm, no. You can't have MIL units as long as you are a neutral Major Power. (RAW7m 4.1.2 Special Additions). A Major Power is neutral as long as it isn't at war with any other major power. (RAW7m 9.1 Neutral Major Powers).

I have new pictures...
first the french front:
I think France will survive until 1941,now we are in the 8th impulse, with bad weather. What do you think about my defense.

Image

Now only a curiosity, see that, I know it's madness.

Image

And the last picture, it's my big question, the russian front:

Image

What do you think, about my strategy, I'am tryin to use the rivers, for example in the south, near of Besarabia, and in the north near of Latia.

Thank you very much for your advices.

How did the London MIL got there ? Hamburg is not invadable (no all sea hexside). Bremen is.

About France, well, seems that the lone flipped MIL NW of Paris is toast. Both corps E of Paris too. But, having held that long is a great thing for Russia.

About your defense in Russia, you're obviously trying to prevent the huns from breaking the pact, and thanks to France, you will succeed in my opinion. But I would not defend the Baltic States so strongly as you're showing, because the Germans will turn you from the east from northeastern Poland, unless you block them. I advise you to send reinforcing troops there to block them cutting you out of supply.

What were the losses of Germany ?
Seems like Germany is in a very bad position.

Regarding the CW MIL in Germany, I suppose you guys know that Germanys production level will bump up a cool 0.5 (0.25 for the invasion-attack and another 0.25 if the MIL is in supply)? The total will be approx. 10 BPs if the MIL is in supply at the end of the turn, 5 BPs if not.

Regarding Russia, the rivers won't help during the surprise impulse. Read section 15.1 in the RaW:
Land units are not halved when attacking a surprised land unit across a river or canal hexside (even if some other unit in the hex is not surprised). They still suffer the adverse effects of invasions and attacks across straits hexsides.
Also, is Rumania aligned with Germany? I don't see any rumanian units... If not, the german player can't stack in Bessarabia since it belongs to a neutral minor country... Anyways, remember to claim Bessarabia after Germany has aligned Rumania. That way you can stack in Chisinau, which at least is a little bit annoying for Germany [:)]

I see now why Germany hasn't crushed France earlier, he has both of his OC's left. Not a very good idea if you ask me...

You can't invade Bremen from the sea:
11.14
...
You may only invade an enemy controlled coastal hex that has at least 1 all-sea hexside (at least part, but not necessarily all, of this coastal hexside must touch upon the sea area where the TRS is located).
...

Bremen doesn't have a hexside that touches the sea area...

Touching the sea does not mean "touching an hexdot". This is a ghost of WiF past.
The Bremen hex does not touch an hexdot, but it touches the North Sea, how could it be a port in the North Sea otherwise ?

Capitan, que alegria, alguién que escribe en español! ¿aunque creo que no eres de España verdad?, sobre el ejercito franquista se algunas cosas, pregunta y si lo se te puedo ayudar. Aunque se más sobre el republicano.

Froonp: About the london MIL, by the Bremen hex. About German loses, it lost only 3 or 4 in the french front, is very difficult to kill a german unit.
Thanks for all!

3 or 4 units lost are heavy losses in my opinion. Are you talking about Corps losses only ? What about planes ?

I side with Oscar, feeling that the BP boost you give Germany is exactly the contrary of what you want to do when Germany prepares for Barbarossa 41, especially when the Russian tries to stuff the border.
This London MIL ought to immediately leave from here.
Annoying the German will be best done by going to the Netherlands or Denmark than doing this. You are killing the Russian here.

Yes. This "touch upon" thing is here just to say that if the hex is sitted on a sea area boundary, then you could invade from both the sea areas. Example, Brest.
