opinions are likely to be divided...


what's interesting is that he seems 'good' for western europeans and americans, while a lot of russians dislike him accusing him of dismantling the USSR, most of them being ambivalent at best...

Communist he was, but he also made the Russian Communist part illegal, understanding that Communism had no place in the modern world. Gorbachev didn't see that...

Everyone in this thread agrees that he was a drunk. Did being a drunk have more to do with his clouded thinking in disbanding the Soviet Union. If so, is this a time we could say being a drunk was good?
