David, problems with patch

Post by garysorrell »

I just downloaded and installed. Fresh Max install, then newest update.

I start a quickplay game and this happens just as player starts to kickoff(opening kickoff after coin toss)

"Cant find DLL entry point get2ddistanceaccurate in wvsmath.dll in procedure clsball.kickball

Press F9 to attempt to continue"

Did it for both US and Indoor.

Im redownloading and doing a reinstall to make sure I downloaded properly, but im pretty sure I did.

I re did everything, same result.

Also, after i do hit F9, the kicker is standing next to the ball, picks it up and runs till tackled. Then kicking team has ball, and when they try to run a play, I get this

"in procedure clsplayer.process playlogic offense
Press F9 to continue"

when I press F9 it goes black and says Could not continue hit esc

I noticed this update was a few megs smaller, did it require the previous one also? I usually do clean installs and only patch the most recent.

*****I did a fresh install, patched with 1.3.149, and then patched with todays new update. Everything seems to work fine.*****

Well, after simming a few games I looked through the game logs. I looked at 3. One of them had the last play in the game with 3:33 left to play. One of them had a TD scored, and the extra point made with 7:19 left. The ensuing kickoff was the last play of the game. This was simming one game at a time, without the anumated ball box checked.

EDIT----whoops meant to make this its own post

Crap... I wonder if they posted the wrong file.

There is a DLL missing

Let me investigate.

Okay, I did a very quick investigation and yes, it looks like the wrong file was posted publicly.

This is an update patch, not the full installation (which is what it was supposed to be...)

Please give me some time to sort this out. I sincerely apologize for this I really wish I could post my own updates rather than relying on others...

Yea - I wish you could eliminate Matrix entirely.

Also getting an error sometimes with "subscript out of range" when a fumble occurs. My first thought was that it was only when defense recovers but not sure since sometimes "F9" will continue and sometimes a crash occurs.

And my #1 hope was that running backs would be subbed-out when AI controlled.
Has not happened in three games. The number one back carried 26 times. NO Sub. And yes the depth chart is OK.

What the *ell. Really losing hope.

The patch posted last night was an incremental patch not a compressive one.  You will get errors if the patches are not applied in order.  Matrix Games is in the process of creating a compressive patch that will be posted later today.  I hope this clears up some of the confusion.

The comprehensive patch has now been posted in the download section of the Maximum Football game page (The FTP location is ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/MaximumFootball/MaximumFootball-UpdateRelease-v13171revisonD.zip).  I spoke with David Winter and he wanted me to let you know that he will be reviewing the other issues that have come up tonight.

Can I download the above patch and install it over my current 1.3.149?

Or must I uninstall everything and apply every update I have?
