Blurry Fonts

Post by megastraea »

I couldn't find any other reference to this on the forum, but I am seeing a very blurry font for the text on the buttons and throughout the game. The screenshots on the Matrix website are more readable than the display during the actual game! I haven't see this problem with any other applications. How can I change this font?

Hi,

Would it be possible for you to post a screenshot of what you are seeing? What resolution is your screen and what resolution are you running the game in? Do you have anything unusual set as far as your Windows font DPI or font anti-aliasing, etc.?

Regards,

Font size is normal, 96 DPI. Screen is 1024x768 normally, and that's what I tried to run the game at.

The game uses the standard Arial font you have installed on your computer. It's possible that you've installed a program that has replaced the standards Windows font with something else. To fix it, try this:

1) From the control panel, select Fonts. Find the "Arial" font and delete it. Reboot your system, and it should be restored.
2) Optionally, after deleting the font, you can download a copy of ARIAL.TTF from the Internet (or from a local copy of Windows). Within the Fonts control panel (see above), select "Install New Fonts...". Browse for the ARIAL.TTF file and install it. Re-run the game, and it should now work correctly

Yes, I had seen that concept on the web site and tried it. XP did not restore the arial font file, so I got it from my wife's laptop and all is back to normal. However, the font in the game still looks like the image above...
Is it possible the wrong font file is being used? Can I override in a dat file to have it use another font?
Thanks
