New graphics engine and current uniforms

Post by redwolf1 »

Those people who have been following the posts in the forums will know that David is working on a "major" patch that will appear sometime down the road. It has been said that it will include a new graphics engine...

...so, at David or perhaps somebody else in the know:

Will current uniforms work with the new graphics engine or will we need to start from scratch again? Or will we likely want to do to improved player models/templates? (sorry if this has already been addressed, but I don't think anybody has asked this yet).

Hi

Current uniforms will work. I've done some extra work to ensure that you can still use your current uniforms. I can't guarantee that they'll look quite as nice in some cases if the creator of the uniform has not followed the power of 2 rule for game textures (meaning that a 132*69 sized texture may not display properly). Or they're using textures that do not match the size/aspect ratio of the stock uniforms.

What I mean by that is that if a stock uniform part is is 128*64 then user created content should also be that size.

I think for the majority, they should display the same.

Stadiums on the other hand will not be upwards compatible. Stadium files were never meant to be opened and edited so no attempt has been made to allow existing user created ones to open.

thanks
David
