Unable to download patch v 1.3.171

Post by rcleslie »

Each time I attempt to download patch v 1.3.171 for Maximum Football I get an "unable to connect message". My connections to the internet are ok. I am able to download from other sites, etc. Any suggestions? Is this my problem or Matrix's?

Try turning off any firewalls including the windows firewall temporarily
check your browser security settings if that fails lower them

hope that helps

Thanks for the advice. It wasn't the firewall, but another program, Anonymizer, that interferred. Anonymizer presents a false IP to snoopers so I assume it was the culprit. After turning Anonymizer off I was able to download the zipped patch. HOWEVER, for some reason I am now not able to unzip the patch to the right location. When I click "extract files" a message tells me that "there are no files to extract". I am at the end of my very limited "expertise" as previous downloads did not present this problem. Before when I unzipped the patch it "knew" just where to go and all was well. [&:]

Happy to report that I solved my problem. I had been trying to extract the files from within the download window. When I dragged the zipped file icon to my desktop and opened it there all went well. Ok, so much discovering the right moves. Now can someone explain what I was doing wrong on my first attempts? I know this is files 101, but I am now beyond embarrassment. Was I, in effect, trying to open the file by instructing it to stay put?!
