UFO: Extraterrestrials is a futuristic real-time/turn-based strategy blend set on the fictional planet of Esperanza in 2025. Having made a bloody first contact with a strange form of life from another planet, the player is thrust into the tough position of leading the defense of this isolated planet against the never-ending assault of these hostile invaders
Remember if you order a Game On Demand you can download our digital version immediately at the time of your order and start playing right away as your box version wings its way towards you.
I'm not quite understanding this as I've never done this before either. If I decide not to order the Game On Demand, how long do I have to wait before I can download the digital version after ordering?
There's no instance where you have to wait to download. There are usually three options for each of our games:
1. Digital = Download only and start downloading as soon as your order is complete
2. Digital + Physical = Download right now, then we ship a boxed copy to you as well once it's available
3. Physical Only = No Download, instead we ship a boxed copy to you once it's available
Is the "Physical" copy Matrix sells the same as the Retail Box version that say EB Games sells? And if you just chose to buy the "Digital" version does it give you the option to back it up to a DVD or CD? Just curious..tonight will be my first time buying from Matrix, and I am trying to decide on what option I should choose.

The physical is a double-thick DVD case, color printed with (in this case) three color printed CDs inside (on the CDs is printed your serial # and order # as this is done "on demand") and a color printed manual. Note that we only started being able to include color printed manuals this year, so our older games (before Forge of Freedom) are just color printed DVD case + color printed CD, but the new ones are equivalent to a retail box.
The download version is fine to backup to a CD, in fact we strongly encourage that so that you don't lose the installer file. Also keep the serial number safe.
Thanks for the quick response Erik !! Your company really knows how to show your customers that you care!! Its been a long time since I have felt this way about the service I have received. I just cancelled my Pre-Order with another Online Retailer and you will see me here tonight!!

The store cache cleared a bit quicker than usual this time, so you may notice that UFO: Extraterrestrials is now available in our store. You can use the Buy Now link I just added to this forum to go directly to the right store pages to place your order. Thanks everyone and enjoy!
Question:
This is my first time purchasing the download version. How long does it take to get the confirmation email/password with the serial number needed for the game?
Its been 5 minutes and still nothing
We send it out right away, the question comes down to where it has to go and what else might slow it down as far as any scans or checks or slow servers in between. Always also check your spam filter to see if it got stuck there. You should also have that info displayed for you on the screen when you order and you can retrieve it at www.findmyorder.com if you didn't notice it.
omg ffs.... i was just sold on buying the dd and now i find out i cant (not buying any software that comes with starforce or any software outside of the game itself).
Does anyone know of a US based proxy so i can order the dd from matrix?
I checked out Amazon.com and I saw that they shipped international to only a select few countries. So, I opened it and looked. Most important European Countries are there, but not Belgium. You have United Kingdom, Germany, France and the Netherlands, but that speck of land between them doesn't deserve to have games shipped to it. And guess who lives in that speck of land? Indeed.
e-license is really not that bad...I use it with a half dozen of my games and it is very easy and hassle free to use.
You get two licenses and can install and uninstall them as much as you like to switch computers.
You enter in the code once to unlock the game and it never asks for it again so long as you dont unlicense the game.
I abought Armed Assault on eLicense. I used one to install (I was aloud a total of 3 installs, then I had to ask for a new key and, presumably, explain why)...that was it. I used one.
When the patch came out for Armed Assault, the jerks had made it so it used an eLicense...BUT when I installed the patch and typed in my purchasing info (this was only the 2nd time I had typed my info into the eLicense system), it said I had used up all 3 of my licenses and had to contact the company. I hadn't. I had used 1.
I was without the game for a weekend, which in itself is no big loss...I have other games...but it pointed out to me the dangers of someone not being at the other end of the email.
I will not touch it with a barge pole. You, on the other hand, are more than welcome to [;)]

I'm surprised to see the UK in there...I have never been able to buy computer games from Amazon.com.
