Serial number error

Post by Hollibaugh »

"There is an error with your serial number as entered. Please contact support@trisynergy.com for assistance. Error Code: 0."

Obviously the error message says Trisynergy, but I bought it from Matrix and the gamelink for support brought me back to these forums.

Any help?

I don't see any option to re-enter my serial number. If I entered it wrong (w/ the hypens), I don't understand why it let me continue w/ the installation?

Thanks ahead of time.

Hm, it sounds like it allowed you to install and then came up with this error when you tried to run it, is that correct?

The serial number should be entered in the following format: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX (with the dashes)

However, this seems like something else must be going on. Did you disable anti-virus and other security programs when installing? Can you provide some details on your OS, installation location and anything else that might have interfered with the installation? Did you change anything from the installation defaults?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling yet?

Running Windows XP (w/ SP2), on a Dell Inspiron 6000. Installed to C:/Matrix Games.

I didn't stop my anti-virus, nor have I tried re-installing it (I was holding out before re-installing, hoping I just entered the number wrong and there was some way to re-enter the serial number w/o uninstalling.)

The only thing I'm doing weird w/ the game is trying to use it with 3dAnalyzer. Game wouldn't run normally on my laptop (Intel 915 chipset doesn't apparently support pixel/vertex shaders), and the 3dAnalyzer program is supposed to try and confuse a .exe to get the game up and running. Otherwise, I'll just end up installing it on my desktop. But why would any program I'm using now cause an error w/ the serial number? Or any program running during the installation, for that matter.

I'm getting the same problem in Windows Vista (64-bit). The only default I changed in the installation was the location (from my C drive to E drive). I've attempted to uninstall and re-install to no effect.

Edit:
I did double-check my serial although I imagine it wouldn't have installed with a proper serial, and tried without any programs running to interfere (except those required by Windows). Also I installed Battlefront just before installing this, and it runs fine.

Edit (Again):
Solved my problem by playing with the compatibility settings to Windows XP (SP2)

I got the game to work on my desktop PC w/o any problems, but I'd still like to find out if there is any work around for whatever problem I'm having on my laptop.

I did un-install, re-install on the laptop and still had the same problem.

I had the same error when I tried to run the game for the first time from the Quick Start shortcut.  Oddly enough my internet connection was down at the same time.  I tried the short cut for the Main Menu (not quick start) and everything worked as it had been, and from that point forward, including the quick start.  Vista actually reported that there was a compatibility/installation problem.  Weird, but everthing is fine now.
