Retreat

Post by ljreagan »

Have the retreat rules been changed from the manual? As the Union, I defeated two CSA divisions, and expected them to surrender, since there were no adjacent provinces under CSA control. Instead, they retreated to a province under Union control, from which they had moved the prior turn.

I believe units should be able to retreat to enemy controlled provinces that are adjacent to their own provinces in that version.

The province it retreated to fit the criteria for your new 1.9.16 Beta patch: - Units can now retreat from combat into enemy territory as long as the province into which they are retreating is adjacent to a province controlled by that player and that province contains no enemy units. (Units will do naval evacuations in preference to this.)

Thanks for your response and clarification. Makes it harder to surround.

That was just it -- the beta testers thought it was getting to be too easy to surround armies.
