How to revoke a development?

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

How to revoke a development?

Post by Kriegsspieler »

Here's a newbie question that has probably come up more than once:

Is there any way to revoke the initiation of a development if you accidentally click on one in the development screen? I find it pretty annoying that you don't get an "are you sure?" pop-up.

Thanks. This is an interesting game!

The silence here suggests that once the development process has begun, whether mistakenly or not, it can't be revoked except by cancelling that project and beginning another.

That's a pretty major oversight, I think, given how easy it seems to be to start a development project w/o meaning to.

At the moment, I don't believe you can, however, they (the developers) added this capability to FoF, and have said they were going to revisit CoG to bring it up to date with FoF in a lot of areas. I wouldn't be surprised if they'll at least fix it so that you can cancel it if you accidentally start it. However, even in FoF, once the End Turn had been hit, you cannot cancel development processes that have been started.
You've GOT to hold them back!

Well choosing a different development results in a message warning you that changing developments will result in the loss of all resource expended on the current one.  So, whilst you can't cancel it you could replace it with something more useful.

Are we talking about developments in regions or military upgrades?

Good point...I assumed we were discussing developments of provinces not Military Upgrades.
