March 5th and 6th 1942

Post by stldiver »

March 5th & 6th 1942

These two days are relatively quiet except in China Jesse has begun his attack on Puechang, achieving 1 to 1 then 2 to 1, reducing the forts to 4. I have plans for relief.

A Japanese submarine hits a mine at Singapore it should survive since its at Singapore, but at his other major bases he is sweeping like crazy. So my mine results have been much reduced with no hits for a while.

Naga in the Phillipines is receiving a lot of air attention and he has 3 divisions plus 4 SNLF's there. He should be attacking soon. These troops are battle vetrans and ready for the clash.

Elsewhere the pacific is quiet and the KB has disapeared for the moment, only if that moment would last a long time.[;)]

Naga Holds again!

Post by stldiver »

March 7th and 8th 1942

Naga holds in the Phillipines as predicted by the Allied command, the allied forces had shifted some reinforcements to counter the Japanese 16th, 2nd and 56th divisions and they repulsed the first attack. As you can see we have build the fort levels to 5 from the previous 4. Unfortunatly daily bombings will not allow us to go further.

The japanese have over 25 units north of clark so we expect an attack there soon. As the case with Naga the troops are ready and eager.
This area is going to be a long fight for Jesse. But as always the case once an area cracks it will fall fast.

Puechang in china is reduced further and will fall in the next two days. My troops have an escape route, so the fight will continue. He is moving 2 units up the north trail, whether they attack or just bombard is illrelavant as the 4 units I have there are static.

The SS I-19 and a little DD Tomozuru both go down from previous wounds, aside from that just the usual bombings.

He has gone back to bombarding at Naga and bombing it heavily, obviously this is an obsession to have Naga [:-]

Between vacations and work we have both slowed down a little, so here are the highlights of the last 6 days.

China Puechang falls, and my attack on his division west of Puechang barly fails, I went with 4 divisions and the magic bullet for chinese vs a Japanese division is 5 divisions, I knew I would be low but just missed by less then 100 AV. I also after reading several other AAR's and borrowing the suggestion offered the following to Jesse

"as to China, then other then bases we currently have contested or contested before, I will not attack further, except those you continue you to take. Thus the ones I believe I can push for are Puechang, and the bases that the gurerillas caputured ealier to the SE, Ichang, Hong Kong and Canton. This will not allow me to overun you early and it will prevent you from taking advantage and withdrawing because of no chance for attack. Jan 1st 44, all restrictions removed. I will also not fly any air attacks out of China more then 4 hex's until that time"

This is only fair as I also came to the conclusion as I moved my forces into attack position that he would be quickly pushed out of China, I also believe that with the increased supply and forces, something has to give, be it a combination reduction of forces in Big B mod or locking down at least 1/3 more, to give the japanese a chance to push a little. Even though he gained Puechang it was because I was thinking of assaulting Hanoi, I could have taken it easily but thought that would unbalance to early, so they are marching to Puechang to recapture the base.

Other then that the air war in China has disapeared.

Burma He bombs Mandalay and his division are 120 miles SW but he has only 2 there so he can ony sit and watch. I bomb the oil at Magwe occasionally and watch for an invasion, that cannot happen without the KB.

Phillipines Jesse continues to bomb Naga everthing else is static. No reinforcements spotted for his troops yet.

DEI Lilly's out of Palembang sank several AKs trying to take troops off the west side of the island, those efforts have stopped and on the 16th he began the invasion of Merak with 2 division plus support forces, the mini KB was spotted at Balikapapan, Kendari has a lot of transports so the invasion of Timor is imminent., He also bombed Darwin out of Ambonia but suffered AA losses and stopped after that.

South, Central, North Pacific all is quiet and I continue the build up.

The reason all is quiet is Jesse stated it had been a while since he played Japan and had not logistically moved up enough fuel to support his advance, he was rectifying this, unfortunatly he probably pulled the KB back to Truk or the Home Islands which means they could redeploy anywhere. We shall see.

Intresting proposal regarding China. Personally I would not be that confident there.

Japanese do carry a punch there and after all a lot of your Chinese troops are static. [:)]
Anyway, that is an genereous offer thouugh.

Our games will differ somewhat due to the diffrent map we are using.

Intresting. Keep it up.

Hi Aztez,

My last AAR I won with China in stock and even though he has a large force there, I would rather keep China static, as in reality and let the war be fought elsewhere, as I believe would reflect actual events better. Its not over confidence, but just trying to be fair, if it is to my disadvantage I will accept the consequances obviously and big B mod does have a larger amount of troops then stock.

DEI, Merak falls with ease to the Japanese hoard and Batavia gets pounded from the Sea, not sure if Java can hold, are resistance is minimal at the moment.

all else quiet.

Aside from occasional bombings, the world is really quiet, 2 Day turns are great for these slow times, and as an allied player I am very happy to advance out of March and Japanese landing bonus, another drop in zero bonus.

To clear things up with a picture I will post china with the bases that I have had troops in and contested or held prior to my offer to make no advances other then these. This does not eliminate the fact that I can bomb other bases, surround them, I just cannot capture bases besides the ones I circled or currently own., so I will still be busy, just a lower tempo version.

KB reapears near Noumea

Post by stldiver »

March 27th and 28th.

The Timor falls, and I bag a MSW and AP, unfortunatly the KB shows up south of Noumea and bags much more then that.
I like it better when I didn't know where they were. Its been a while since I did a turn, but I definatly lost a lot of troops here.
Didn't look to closely. On a lighter note I have Jesse right where I want him, over confident with his success and victories!!!!
Well maybe he has me right where he wants me never the less, PI will soon be the main focus as he definatly has brought in
more troops.

Here are some clips.
