How about getting together with Warhammer 40K (Games Workshop) and make a Space Hulk game using this engine. Instead of defending your planet you would have a Marine Chapter defending a section of Space. The research tree would lead to Terminator Armor and all the various weapons that go with it. It could be done. I've waited a life time for a good turn based Space Hulk game. [&o]

I enjoyed WH40K: Chaos Gate years ago. The AP system was the same as X-Com, of course and the sound effects and certainly voice acting were some of my favs.

I hear GW is really tight with their IP and like to issue C&D orders to any unlicensed mod makers.

Shame.

That team also did Soldiers at War, which was also one of my favorites.

I was a Beta Tester for this game. It was a lot of fun but it missed the mark of being a truly great game. There were some bugs that never got fixed, like with tanks and such.

I had both myself.  Still liked Space Hulk better than Chaos Gate.  I remember being disappointed when they released the folup to Space Hulk on I think the Sony Playstation, but never released it for the PC.  I still have the 3.5s with Space Hulk on it somewhere in this mess.
