serious bugs

Post by spruce »

1. playing coming fury (july scenario) not the balanced economy one - as CSA - I choose random generals, random stats and random start date.

the game starts - I get one General = Bragg.

It's now october 1861 - and still haven't received any new generals. This should be a bug ... only Bragg. If I check the military screen - I have 2 academies and only one general - general Bragg.

2. during more then one game I noticed that the majority of the "blockade runner" targets was in the great lakes - between USA and Canada ?

f.e. I have one option around Florida- and 5 options in the great lakes

3. In the secund turn - the Union comes in with a big army and sieges Nashville - having bairly any defenses set up - I lose Nashville - is this WAD ? I mean already in the second turn ? Perhaps tweak the starting point of that Union army a little so it can only arrive in the third turn in Nashville.

U sure u have upgraded to 1.9.16d?
the general thing sounds like the bug that has been fixed in 1.9.16c/d, but get 1.9.16d the latest.

2. Its been like that since the game was released if u were unlucky. im not aware if its some thing Eric is looking into or since u still have targets in normal waters its some that is being left as is. Eric would have to answer that i guess.

3. hmmm, since it would have to siege fort donalson first before starting a siege on Nashville and that starts with a garrisons. im a bit at odds how that can happen.
U didnt remove the garrison? from the fort and city? it should take atleased 5 6 turns to take nashville with a garrison in both, and that early with no engineer attribute prolly longer.
Those turns should give u time to get some thing that resemples an army up and running.

Hope it helps,

Rasmus

Walloc's right to ask which version you're playing -- if you've got the fourth incarnation of this patch, you should be getting more generals.

Regarding the Great Lakes runners' goods, it's a problem we're aware of, but quite possibly the least important known bug. As Eric has explained to me, the presence of runners' goods there does not mean that the CSA player gets fewer goods elsewhere. So, while bizarre, it doesn't actually impact the game. I'm sure he'll get to it once the other bugs are zapped. Thanks for the report.

well it seems I've mistaken - and installed the b-patch instead of the d-patch. After a new reinstall of the d-patch, there's no generals issue no more.

Good to hear.

Is anyone using the option for randomizing generals' start dates? Is that working to people's liking?
