Zoom In and Out?!

Over in this thread *Zoom* General Quarters says that the scroll roller button on his mouse will zoom the map in and out. Johnnie and I can't see how. I searched the manual for the word "zoom" and all references to it refer to the mini map zoom feature only. Is there a way to zoom the map out? [&:]
