This is an enemy sighting. The intel is limited and confused. .............. and don't forget every German tank is a Tiger .... even though they haven't been invented yet! [;)]

You joke not. I've often spotted captured KV1s among the krauts. Maybe in AA, Barbarossa occured a year earlier. ;)

The Germans actually have a couple of captured KV1's in the what-if Malta scenario "Ray of Hope" which is set in 1942 IIRC.

To the best of my knowledge what happens is this : when you play the Allies you get reports of Axis units - depending on a lot of variables these reports will be more or less accurate, including the number and type of vehicles. When the type is deemed inaccurate it's is picked randomly from the "available types of the same kind of vehicle" - which include the KV1 when "tanks" are reported.

Just assume that for all the Allies in 1940 knew Joe Stalin and Adolf were still buddies so he might have sold them some hot new tanks [;)]

it could be explained by the fact that Tiger's prototype was shown two years earlier in Automotopanzer show in Frankfurt [8|] [:D]
