This game looks like....

Looking at the screen shots as well as othe data supplied on the sight, I find that this game looks almost exactly like SSI's old game EAST FRONT.
For those of you who remember EAST FRONT...which I first played in 1991 on the venerable Amiga 500...is it? Is it better?
I loved the game until I found how to unequivicably beat it time after time, and that the AI would become stymied into inactivity.
If I took Moscow in 1941...the Siberian hordes wouldn't come. If I halted before Moscow and set up defensive positions...they wouldn't come.
Conversely...if I played the Soviets, once I launched my winter 41' counteroffensive, the German's would never recover nor mount any kind of counter offensive.

I'll cross my fingers and wait for your answers...

I think your thinking of Second Front, if so, yes this is an upgraded version. I played it first on the Amiga also. The guys here are doing a great job working out the bugs, and bringing historical accuracy to this game. We tip our hats to you.

The AI is still not worth playing. You can beat it easily once you have found out how to. But Play-by-Email gave our lives a new sense, didn't it, guys?

AI stands for 'Artificial Incompetent'
You cant judge a game by the AI. If i play chess with my cat i'd get similar results.
WiR is pretty ballanced with two human players. Even with blizzard. I've survived 3 blizzards as german and won those games. And the Soviets have just as good a chance if handled properly.
Like just about all other PC wargames, WiR is great with human/human play but falls down when one side is the AI.

Both Svar and Josan have flattened me in other games.
