There are no utilities, but you can 1) download all the Uniforms, 2) create a 32 team league with the NFL conferences and divisions, and 3) you can manually edit the players to match players names and abilities. The first two are easy and won't take too long. #3 is probably too much of an monumental task that nobody has done it, especially since the ratings would be subjective and potentially biased.

Hi there and thankyou for Your reply,i tried to manually edit the players that are built into the game but You can only alter their names/physical data You cannot seem to be able to edit their actual playing attributes is there a way to do that? The same seems to go for the teams,You cannot call them the B***S(the team from the Windy city),or the R******S(from the capital of the USA),i'm willing to edit as many players as i can if only i could edit their playing abilities.ORIGINAL: dreamtheatervt

Having never tried to edit players, I don't know how it can be done. As for the team names, I've never heard of that before, but then I haven't made an NFL league, but I know people on here have and they haven't had a problem as far as I know. Local8H - please chime in if you are still around.

Another way to edit teams, players, etc is the league data file using MS Access or any other database editor.

You think 32 teams are monumental, try 119 [X(][:D] Progress continues though[8D]

Are you seriously going to edit 119 teams worth of players? Let me find that straightjacket...you'll need it soon.

One other way of trying to do real teams would be to allow the computer to generate the players and assign the real names to the players generated in the general pool.
It is like there is an exact science to player attributes or skills in computer football games anyway.

Well i`ve got an 80 team league playing cfl rules , The teams consist of cfl , and cfl american teams , wfl from the 70`s , wfl and a few teams from european football , and a couple fantasy teams .I`m using most of each teams real rostors , and a few euro and fantasy teams have a few nfl ,cfl stars playing. Made stadiums and cheerleaders for each team .Only on second week because been doing uniforms , but looking good . I used editor in game seems to work good . Other leagues i used access for the schedule .

RE: Maximum Football Question. . . . .
As far as ratings I went and looked at some of the original teams in the USMFL to get a good idea of ratings, and the ranges for positions. Then I broke each attribute down into 5 categories a player could fall. For example for speed a player will fall into one of the following; fast, above avg, avg, below avg, or slow. Then for each position I assigned a range for those categories, so a fast receiver may have a 90 for speed, but a fast DT would only have a 63.
Obviously when I said I was doing 119 teams I was referring to all 119 Division 1 schools. A great source for info on teams can be found at collegefootballnews.com. Plus some other sources I have it is actually a pretty smooth process. I think by the start of the college football season I can be done, or almost done.....we'll see.

RE: Maximum Football Question. . . . .
I have a lot of running backs with very low speeds in every season I generate. Maybe it evens out over a course of a few seasons, but when I viewed the league I am currently working on (NAFA), I noticed that very few backs were above 70 in speed. Right now I am entirely tweaking rosters and cutting a lot of players to slip seemingly appropriate stats into the positions. Perhaps it was a profile problem where teams were not looking for any speed whatsoever in the draft. I guess I really screwed up by running an autodraft after manually changing each team's profile. But after all that work and no backup (duh!), I was not going back. However, if I am not happy with my league when I start running games, I will restart until I can get it right.

Player skills get built over several seasons. How do the veterans look?
