The original X-Com UFO Defense, and then TFTD (I didn't care for the third title) are some of my favorite games of all time. It lived on my computer for years along with Civilization, MOO, and Railroad Tycoon. X-Com combined the very best of strategic oversight combined with gripping tactical play. While my other favorite games were continually updated, X-Com eventually got to the point where it was unplayable on my more modern computers without major tweaking.

Along comes UFO: Extraterrestrials. One look at the screenshots and I had to have it. I haven't been disappointed. It is a worthy successor to the original and I thank you for it. If you were to come up with verson of X-Com I and II that run well on modern computers, I'd gladly shell out $$ for them as well. I'm happy with this title though and hope that there will be updates and a sequel.

Same. But I don't have much problems to still play original XCOM titles (UFO Def, TFTD and Apocalypse), with Dosbox and DFend they play as new !
Yet there's a problem with the CE edition that is Windows-compatible, but have graphical issues with DirectX (there's a patch) and also with my LCD monitor who just doesn't make 320*200 !
