How do you go up elevators?

Just got the game and was wondering how you go up elevators?

I assume the four square thing with mist are elevators, right?

The way I do it is go up or down one level (using the little up/down arrows on the soldier when you hold the mouse on him) and see what costs ten APs,as that's how much it costs to change levels.

Yes.

Hover the mouse over the guy on the squares and the popup menu should have an up/down selection (lie kneeling, but more options).

Note: If an alien is above you, your soldier cannot use the elevator.

Just be careful when doing it as I recently sent a trooper up an elevator just to have him blown to bits by an awaiting Alien....[:)]
