RE: D Day
If there is a round two. IJN will probably run. I am slowly chewing into the IJN CLs. Port Moresby is doomed. I landed an CD art unit but it hasn't done too much damage on the transports. Oh well. There seams to be a bunch of Allied air frames at Port Moresby, they will be lost.

RE: PM Falls
It seems as if I may have over estimated the defenses at PM. We took the base with just one day of fighting. (we did pound the piss out of that base prior to the attack though)
My mini KB managed to put 2 more fish in the Revenge, and she is no more. Near Banka, the Admiral pulled off a sweet move and surprised my APs leaving the base just after their surface escort had left. Nice one Lew

RE:Java time
The time has come to invade Java. Today my IJA heavies hit the airfield at Bodoeng (spelling) trying to eliminate some Allied bombers. I have been reconing the area heavily for the last couple weeks, and the targets have been selected. Managed to take out a total of 21 torpedo bombers, which is great results imo. (they are the threat I fear most, then subs) More bombings to come.......

RE: RE:Java time
Holes are dug. We are tried of playing cards and waiting. Dutch command has gotten word that two US carriers, along with HMS battleship, will be in support of Java. The USS Enterprise and Lexington was seen east of Perth two weeks ago and should be in the area soon. The Preimer of Java was said to have given a not to silent player of thanks.

RE: March 1st 1942 update
Well the attack on Java is in full swing today. 2 transport TFs from the south form a diversionary force heading towards Bali, while 4 transport TFs out of Palambang are steaming towards a port in the south. (Batavia is the obvious choice) The diversionary force will now turn to the south, and would only have been committed if the Admiral didnt have any LBA in the area. (which he does, quite a few in Soerbaja) In the north, the 4 transport TFs, supported by many ASW TFs and 2 Surface forces should make landings by the 3rd of march.

RE: March 2nd 1942 update
1 day closer to Batavia, and no Torpedo bombers yet. I have really hit all the airfields in the area hard in the last 5 or 6 days, and it looks as if maybe they are out of commision for the time being. The Admiral is able to send Martins and Hudsons from Soerbaja (spelling) , but I dont fear them. By now the Admiral will have figured out that the force in the south was only a faint, and will re-direct all of his local air assets to the defense of the north of Java. The turn after this should be exciting.

RE: Invasion Day
March 3rd is here, and the troops have hit the beach at Batavia. Air attacks were heavy, but caused very little in damage. Only took one torpedo hit, and a few small bomb hits causing no damage. Batavia will be tough to crack, but the port will be mine.

RE: Now to Soerabaja!
Again Mike has lauched a well cordinated successful invasion. All the ground forces retreated towards Merak( not the direction I wanted) from Batavia. The boys up in Bataan are still holding out ( yea).

RE: Now to Soerabaja!
Reminds me Mike, after our 2 games and Java invasions it goes without a saying that only Soerabaja can be defended.
Impossible to stand up the the Japs, at least when you're in command, but you have to delay the inevitable and win as much time as possible.
Our 2nd game is truly quite different from the first one [;)]
Nelson, Bataan is good, but Manila provides much better defensie capabilities! City terrain modifier = 4.
I always move my Army there when forced to retreat.
Good AAR guys, keep it up!

RE: Now to Soerabaja!
Dear Mike Hall and Admiral Nelson,
Excellent play by both sides[&o]. Mike Hall really knows how to run a Japanese offense, and by avoiding the Robin Hood defense, Admiral Nelson has collected some irreplaceable Japanese warships. I look forward to some more surprises by both sides.

RE: Now to Soerabaja!
So far most of the surprises have come from Mike's side.

RE: March 15 update
Not much to report at this time. Army units are marching south in Java, and a failed attempt was launched in China to capture Inchang, which resulted in quite a few losses for me.

RE: Dividing Java
I prefer to take out the defenders of Java piecemeal, instead of driving them back until all the forces are holed up in Soerabaja. In order to do this I have quickly outflanked the Admirals forces at Tjilitjap, and will have them surrounded by tomorrow, sealing their fate. I will update the progress daily.
