just a small video bug

Post by ggm »

when playing the hex war, when I want to auto resolve the window to proceed or cancell is generated behind the hex window , necessitating me to use the task manager to get at the window to auto resolve the battle. it works but is a bit clunky. I use a 256 k ati card with an old 1200x960 monitor 15". Is it my graphics card?

I moved this thread since bug reports belong in the Support sub-forum. As for your post itself, Eric (= programmer) will see it here next time he logs on.

That's strange, the prompt that pops up is "system modal" which is supposed to put it on top of all other open windows.  Is this problem happening to anyone else?  It's more likely a Windows issue than something related to the video card.  Are you using just a standard Windows XP with a single monitor, or do you have anything fancy?

Haven't done it recently but I think it happened to me in earlier patches, I did try to do it about 3 times and I never got the box.

I'm using windows xp on a 1.9 mhz 1gig machine. I don't know if its the virtual ram that's doing it as I'm close to the limit. I'll get proper system specs next post.

I changed my video display setting through my ati manager to 75 hz from 60 hz (monitor) for the screen and it fixed the window problem.

I don't know if this helps.

Hmm, hard to believe the refresh rate has any effect on Windows, but who knows.  Let me know if this happens again!
