System Requirement for CAW

Post by decaro »

Does anyone have the system requirments for CAW yet? I'm assuming you don't need a 3D graphics card, but what is recommended to run this game?

Thanks for the super-fast response!

I'm not familiar wthe GeForce series, but one site said the GeForce 2 can handle both 2D and 3D, so CAW is now 3D? I have a PCI Radeon X600 hypermem @ 256 MB, so that should easilly handle this new version, right?

In the old DOS CAW, there was supposedly a bug in the Midway scenario where land-based PBYs would just fly til they ran out of fuel. I assume this is fixed.

The GeForce 2 is a 7 year old card. Your card is 3 years old. Your video ram will likely burn a hole in this game, IOW don't worry.

Ok, thanks, but for those who have older rigs and cards, it looks like CAW will now require some type of 3D graphics card.

Yes, it will. On my panel I can set as high as 1600x1200, which is the max resolution for my panel. You can enter "advanced mode" under the graphic options which will allow you to enter a custom resolution in the fields.

You can also run in windowed mode.

Yeah, but are there any 2D cards left? I mean your rig would need to be very very old.
