Is it normal that the AI acts like a bathtub captain?

I mean leaving the carrier without defense seems more the stupid.
Some DD & FF on the other end of the map and the heaviest ship a CA even in another sektor.

Also why do ships from groups don't act together?
Was a nice view to see one ship after another engaging the emeny and the enemy stands there with 3 ships together and blows everyone to hell.

Usually carrier group stays together, at least in Starshatter 4.5 (not sure about 5.*). So it's not normal.

I guess that for AI every starship is individual and there isn't much coordination. Also heavier ships have bad habit to pick up fights they can't possibly win, like two Ashers (lighter of Terellian DDs) against two CAs. And this is perfectly normal in version 4.5.
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.
