Game Crashes in Operation Nightfall

I played through the campaign the first time and when I got to Operation Nightfall on Day 20 in the Marak system, the screen would go black and the game would crash to desktop. I tried resetting graphics/video settings but nothing worked. the game would crash in less than a minute from when the mission started. I could see the Zolon ships, but they were all labeled as unknown.

I replayed Operation Nightfall and now this time on Day 17 in the Xanthe system the game crashes when I move my ship to engage 3 Hegenomy destroyers, which for some reason are labeled as unknown.

I would appreciate it if someone could help me out. I love the game and want to get to the end.
