New player: Tutorial - active sonar will not activate (3.8.0.0 on vista home premium)

Post by mwiller »

I'm working my way through the tutorial. In scenario 3 (sensors) I'm supposed to set active sensor.
I select the Puller, click on Senors and select Sonar (Act) and click OK.

When I return to the sensors windos, Sonar is set to passive again.

what am i doing wrong here?

thanks
Michael

You aren't.

If you look at the unit status box you will see your Emcon status is active, and re-selecting the Puller you should see that the sonar range circle changes to a lighter colour. On re-selecting the sensors box it does indeed reset to passive which I thought a little odd too - although I guess it does make it extremely unlikely you will go or stay active when you didn't want to - which is probably a very good thing!

BTW, check the 'Database issues under 3.8.0' thread before starting tutorial 6.

Thanks Hertston.

At least I'm not alone in this. Was afraid of a Vista-issue.

I can see the change in color and status. And I agree, stange behaviour indeed.  Not a shop stopper however. [:D]
