Hi guys just got my copy of Norman Friedmans "British Destroyers and Frigates The Second World War and After" its a great book with lots of proposed projects and cancelled refits for example 3 proposed refits for the Daring Class Destroyer in the early 1960's

Radars updated to :- Type 278,993 and 965 radars
Fire control radars updated to :- Type 903/4 for 4.5" , Type 262 for Seacat.
EW updated to :- UA-8/9 and Type 667 Jammers.

CWDB 1950-64 Version 2.1 is now released for ANW
Hi guys CWDB 1950-64 Version 2.1 is now released for ANW, this DB is now compliant with 3.8 ANW, I will be updating all Re-built Scenarios and new build Scenarios when the final version of 3.8 is released in acouple of days

Here are the list of some of the Changes
Missile Seekers
The Majority of AAW, SAM and Air , Surface and Sub-surface launched anti-ship missiles now have the BOL flag added, as in real life (inside info here hehe) most missiles have a BOL mode.
Electronic Warfare
All ECM, OECM and DECM have been updated in acoordance with the ANW compliance for DBs in ANW.
DE Sub Fuel Burn Rates
Updated in acoordance with the ANW compliance for DBs in ANW.
ARM Warheads
Updated in acoordance with the ANW compliance for DBs in ANW.
Torpedo Defence
Updated in acoordance with the ANW compliance for DBs in ANW, you can now engage incoming torpedo's with your own torpedo's I have added the Torpedo target flag to the majority of ASW weapons ie Hedgehog, Squid, Limbo, Weapon Alpha , RBU's, and ASW homing torpedos ie Mk43,44,46 etc.
Decoys
Updated in acoordance with the ANW compliance for DBs in ANW, ie Target flags added to decoys , also Quail decoys have radar and ECM added to simulate B-52's ( now that is cool including the same RCS)
Replenisment and Unrep
Updated in acoordance with the ANW compliance for DBs in ANW , Majority of Support tankers ammo carriers have fuel and relevent wep mags added if used in scenarios the wep mags are to be altered by scen builders to re-supply the relevant ships in your task group etc.
Air to Air refueling
Updated in acoordance with the ANW compliance for DBs in ANW, due to the period of the CWDB there is few AAR tankers but what is in there has been modifiedn most capable of AAR have had the mod added.

On the 16 February 1961 India became an aircraft carrier nation with the commisioning of INS Vikrant.
She was brought to Bombay on November 3 1961 and later became part of the Indian Fleet as a fully operational carier.
Her intial airwing consited of British Hawker Seahawk fighter-bombers and French Alize anti-submarine aircraft.
Pakistan was outraged at the purchase of the Vikrant, and protested to the United Nations stating that this would alter the balance of power in the Indian Ocean Region into Indias favour. This protest fell on deaf ears so Pakistan decided to take action herself to ensure Vikrant would never reach Bombay.
INDIA
OVERVIEW
The Vikrant group has now entered the Indian Ocean and is now onroute to Bombay.
Over the past week Pakistani Naval Units have been conducting so called
Naval Exercises , we believe this is a prelude to an attack on the Vikrant.
We have sortied 3 Squadrons of warships including Delhi to escort her to Bombay, Maritime , Fighter and Strike aircraft have been assigned to her protection.
Vikrant and her group are on high alert with embarked aircraft at alert 5 ready for combat.
THREAT
SURFACE - A mix of Ex RN WW2 Destroyers and Frigates with the light AA Cruiser Babur somewhere in the Indian Ocean.
AIR - Possible Sabre fighters armed with cannons and sidewinder, B-57 Canberra armed with bombs, rockets and cannons, MRR aircraft on recon
ORDERS
1. Vikrant to recieve no more than 50% damage if engaged.
2. Vikrant to reach reft point PIM and remain on station there for 1 hour.
3. If Pakistan forces are on attack profiles you are to use lethal force.

Land based aircraft maybe a threat as we close India be aware of B-24s configured in the MR Role.

1. Vikrant to be damaged to 80% or sunk , her last know position at 0800Z today was 18 20N 62 14E Course 090 speed 22 kts.

This is a ficitious situation set for Operation Mainbrace, NATO's first big naval exercise.
Mainbrace was conceived in 1951 by General Eisenhower to convince NATO's Scandinavian members (Norway and Denmark) that their lands can be defended in the event with war with Russia.

Soviet forces have now entered Norway and have captured several airfield , these are now operational with aircraft based there.
Norwegian forces are holding the Vanguard of the Soviet advance 70 miles North of Sandnessjoen and are taking heavy losses.

I like the harpoon interface when it worked way back when, years and years ago .. Harpoon the origonal? The talk of modding brought back a joy that I had with other naval sims,

Iceland is in the hands of Soviet forces and aircraft based there have been wreaking havoc with northern convoys so this convoy has been routed further south .... but will this help!

The aim of the Combined Nato Carrier Groups is to destroy Soviet Naval Facilities along the Kola Peninsula.
Embarked on the USS Saratoga is VA-75 Sunday Punchers on their first operational Deployment of the A-6A Intruder!
Overview
The USS Saratoga CVBG has now entered the Barents Sea with the USS Wasp ASW Group and Desron 5 providing support.
HMS Eagle / Centaur Carrier Group is at present close in to the Norwegian Coast with the 6th Frigate Squadron providing outer ASW defence, Norwegian F-86 Sabres providing round the clock AAW Cover.
The Norwegian Navy has deployed a large number of its surface units to assist in supporting Carrier operations in the Barents Sea .
Numerous SSK/SSN from Nato forces are now in theatre and are conducting ASW/ASuW operations in support of Nato forces

1. Conduct Strikes against the Murmansk, Severomorsk and Polyarny Naval Facilities marked with a (T) next to them, at least 20 (T)’s to be destroyed.
2. Two SS-5 Mobil ICBM Regts are on the move to reposition, SAS forces are in there general location, both SS-5 ICBM Regts are to be destroyed.
3. One Hotel Class SSBN has sortied from Polyarny on transit to the GIUK Gap , two Submarine Support vessels are in the general area of the Hotel you are to Sink the Hotel Class SSBN.
4. Destroy at least 80 Soviet aircraft in the air or on the ground.
5. Sink at least 15 Soviet Warships.
6. Insure your Carrier Groups remain intact for further Operations, three of your Carriers must not receive anymore than 60% damage.
