Here's what the game engine has decided I should expect for reinforcements during turn 82:

That's insane. How am I supposed to defeat that with my depleted panzer divisions, of which probaply half don't even have panzer regiments anymore.

Keep in mind that you control every hex south of y=185 or thereabout. Larry need to launch a serious offensive in the south to "qualify" for those units.
Larry can post a list of what he actual recieved in turn 82. I'm guessing it's less than 20 units, of which more than half are reconstituting.

Will those units that are supposed to appear in Stalingrad actually appear elsewhere or are they lost for good? I would think it would be most appropriate perhaps to delay their arrival, but to actually have htem not show up seems a bit cruel.

As LLv34_Snefens says....I need to actually own the hex where the reinforcement is due to appear before I will actually benefit from the reinforcement.

I WILL post what I actually receive for reinforcements in the subsequent turns.

Cruel and unusual maybe but certainly typical.

WoW ! That TOAD development team and Ralph in particular are just outstanding. Imagine that they could develop a game that can interpolate into the future and predict what would happen 100 turns ahead of time. Here I was in March of 1942, turn 82, and now I load my turn and the playback says it has all of 1943 playback ready for me to view. That's outstanding.

Disaster ! That's what it is... An unmittigated disaster. Look what happened....almost 100 of my troops just went home. They quit the war and just went home. I'm going to have to pull my lines back and regroup A LOT just to make up the difference.

Here's the situation on the losses and units in play now: only just over 1,000 units left in play. Time to shorten the lines and re-organize.

Larry, just put those tanks in the front line. Karri hates those things and you have thousands.

Why did that happen? That seems like a *very* strange occurrence, especially as it was not listed in the reinforcements screen you had earlier. Why did so many just disappear? Although most of them look to have been light rifle squads, there are a fair number of heavy rifle squads (a loss of 4000) in that loss set. On the other hand, you're up almost 2000 newly deployed rifle squads, you have excess capacity in your heavy rifle squads as it is/was.
I'd be interested if Karri had similar withdrawals/reinforcements on his side.

Yes, it was NOT listed in the expected reinforcements screen I posted earlier. I'd love to find out why they were withdrawn without any notice. Good thing it happened during a mud season turn.

I may be up in the number of Squads but the number of units went down about 70 units. And those are the guys I was depending on to hold the line against the Axis dudes. I can't break down my units like the Axis can to manufacture some more units. I will have to shorten the lines....that's the only answer to this situation.
I'd be interested as well. What say you Mr. Karri?ORIGINAL: medck

RE: Soviet turn 82
it might be this bug, several people have mentioned whole armies disappearing in FiTE. It does seem to be recoverable..

It's NOT a bug, but working as designed. If you read the "background.doc" it says: "...are withdrawn from the game during spring ’42" The mud season was specifically chosen as the time of withdrawal, to allow the soviet player to take counter-measures.
If you prefer a overview of what will/can happen each turn, you can download this excel-file: http://www.ac-smolf.dk/fite/Timeline+events.xls

Oh. Well, it's not a bug then. Ralph need not intervein. It was just unexpected is all. I mean I expected to see a withdrawl notice in the expected reinforcements screen and it wasn't there. So....
On with the game.....

Actually, I rarely ever break down my units, they are just too weak that way. I have to withdraw to shorter lines in order to free up units. For example during the last mud period I gave up quite a strech of land around Smolensk, as well as in the Bryansk-Orel-Vyazma(?) line, there I just kept enough land to attack those 3 cities since they were all production cities. This gave me the possibility to attack in South and to defend more effeciecntly elsewhere.
Well looking at the list just posted I will get some of withdrawals sometime soon. 10th pz div in a turn or two after the mud for example. The panzer regiments are withdrawn but they are replaced with new ones. Some SS units are withdrawn but those are mainly destroyed now anywyas(one of the is down to HQ, recon unit and engineer battalion). No major withdrawals should occur...I'd be interested as well. What say you Mr. Karri?
