Dumb Civilians

Post by GalacticOrigins »

Ever notice how dumb civvies are? They run straight towards the enemy (at least this is useful as sometimes the aliens are hiding). I had a civvy run into a raging fire I had set from my weapons, and die! Ha Ha! What a dumb girl! They also get in my way for shooting. I have killed several by mistake, usually from area rockets.

Yeesh, are those civvies crazy? [8D][:D]

They were the same in Xcom. (except Apocolypse)I wish the civilians had more variety in their dress tho.
Do you lose "points" for dead civilians or damaged buildings at terror sites?

Well, dead civvies lower the mission rating. Lose 'em all and ya get Terrible [:-]

but i do not remember them running into fire and gas attacks already on the ground [:D]

I remember the civvies in Xcom where the same...they were perpetually standing in doorways and blocking my guys' advance. And they seemed to want to become Chryssalid zombies. [:D]

In Apocolypse I used to just stun em to keep them from being in the way or getting killed. Is that a valid strategy here too?

I don't think so. If I remember, in the original game 'stunned' aliens would sometimes become consious again. Here, they seem down for ever. But as far as civvies, I dunno.

I addition to the same drab clothes, they seem to just stroll around nonchalantly.  For a terror mission, they don't seem very terrified.

Maybe a mod will come out which has them running FROM aliens, waving their hands in the air and screaming constantly...this would be more satisfactory, IMO.

Well, in BMan's mod they at least run faster, which simulates scared.

I think the terror comes in when you find your debarking troops are facing half the aliens force and you take a terrible beating![X(]

I've started shooting any I see, they're so annoying.  Not that the aliens seem all that much smarter.
