Dont think I would want to be standing on the barrel like that (even on a catwalk) with that popgun shooting. Probably noisy.

Yes, all Japanese battle wagons minus the Yamato class had casement guns. Last BB to be built was Nagato class which were both completed 0n 1920 and 1921. Yamashiro was finished by 1917, these ships were pretty old by WWII.
Yamato, IMO the best looking Battleship.
