I guess it would be very hard to get all five generations of aircraft in one photo.  The max speed of 1st gen biplanes and stall speed of the jets do not leave much overlap.

As I was cleaning out my harddrive I found these multigenerational photos

They need an F-4 in that picture.

And an F86 would be nice too

Agreed, the F86 was very important in its day.

I will always have a soft spot for the F-4, though it seems much of the press these days maligns the aircraft.

The Texas ANG base near where I grew up flew them and I used to go there to watch the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds...those were great shows. [:)]

I will agree that a 3.5 is needed for 1960's era aircraft F4 would fit nicely into that category. I would classify it as supersonic pre fly by wire.

Well I did partiipate in a "small"  car accident... our driver tried to somehow dodge this truch that started to pass another car... but well he succeded in a way that we ended up hitting a tree... thanks God, everyone survived but my absence was the result of spending time at the hospital...[:'(] bring th Chair[8D][:D]

Question of the day ...  For a given nationality which fighter aircraft are the best examples of each generation??

2nd P-40 Ubiquitous fighter of WWII. Not sleek, not sexy, but from all around dog fighter, to close air support it did it all.
2.5 Corsair/Thunderbolt/Hellcat (all were similar in performance)
3rd F86
3.5 So many to choose from F-4 may get the nod but also F-8 crusader (another personal favorite of mine) and the F-104 Starfighter
4th F-15 for when you absolutely positively need air superiority
5th F22
