Air/Naval Combat?

Post by Toby42 »

When you are on the Combat Screen and after you click for the next wave, a combat results window (?) flashes by so fast that you can't read it. How do you get it to stay open long enough to read? I've got the combat speed to slow and five seconds on the display time, but this window doesn't stay open for a full second!!!

If anyone can read that, they have a lot better eyes than I do!!!

It's a little frustrating. Apparently the window/report is there for a reason, but pretty much useless unless you can get it to stay open long enough to read what it is???

Hi guys, I don't think there is supposed to be a combat results report until the entire combat is finished.  There shouldn't be a report displayed after each wing attacks.  You might be seeing the summary getting drawn onto the main screen for after the current round of combat is finished and the combat screen closes.  I don't see even a flicker of a screen until all wings have completed their attacks.

I get the flicker after each wing compltete' it's attacks. It will do wing 1 of 5, Click to continue and so on until wing 5 of 5. After the last wing of that strike is when I get the flicker of combat results?? Some time the wings are less than 5. 1 of 3, etc. After 5 of 5, 4 of 4 or so on???

The weird thing is that sometimes you will get a combat report secreen that will stay open. I tried to run a strike with the "Click" to continue feature turned off and had the same results. Fast Flicker's after each wing's attacks??

If we get the attention of a moderator/developer then maybe we could get an answer as to what this is or isn't?

Aside from this question and a couple of CTD's, I haven't had too many problems. A lot of it comes back to me from playing the "Original" game(s)...

CTD's? I haven't had any,,,... yet. STD's,,,... none of those either. [;)][:D]

I can't say that I ever even heard of the original before this came out about a week ago. I wonder where I was?! What year was it?

As soon as Alex comes back on line I'll get him to try and work out what's happening, as I certainly don't get the behaviour that you're reporting.

I am getting this flicker on a lot of different screens - not just combat.

Any ideas?

Hi Guys,
Im assuming you guys are talking about the combat summary windows that pop up as a small dialog over the map after the 2d strike screen has gone away. This is a summary of the results of each strike so far. It is linked to the gamelog. I think the reason they are disappearing is because you have the gamelog options set to hide messages after 5 minutes (the default setting). You can override this by selecting the gamelog strike entry (looks like a few red planes with a bomb) to view the strike summary - after manually selecting it, the window should stay visible after every 5 minute increment (until you close it by hitting the little close button).

I'll give that try. Does the clock continue to run during the combat sequence? If so how does it account for other things happening at the same time. Another battle for instance??

Thanks

Well, that didn't work. No big deal, it's not a game killer.
